Senior Trader & Departement-Lead Trading werkt binnen een expeditiebedrijf in de regio Antwerpen en is verantwoordelijk voor het vanaf de basis opzetten van een trading-afdeling, gericht op high volume, low cost commodities. Denk hierbij aan sectoren zoals chemie, granen en voeding. Het hebben van een bestaand netwerk en een eigen portefeuille is een vereiste voor deze functie.

  • Tradingdepartement ontwikkelen: Opzetten van alle processen, systemen en structuren voor handel in bulkgoederen.
  • Marktanalyse & Business Development: Identificeren van markttrends en groeikansen, actief uitbouwen van nieuwe handelsmogelijkheden en versterken van het bestaande portfolio.
  • Project Portfolio Management: Plannen, uitvoeren en opvolgen van strategische projecten rond commodity trading.
  • Risicobeheer: Herkennen en beheersen van operationele en financiële risico’s, inclusief supply chain risico’s.
  • Onderhandeling & Relatiebeheer: Voeren van commerciële onderhandelingen met leveranciers en klanten. Opbouwen en onderhouden van sterke zakelijke relaties.
  • Teamuitbouw: Rekruteren en coachen van nieuwe medewerkers, met als doel een performant tradingteam op de middellange termijn op te bouwen.
  • Veranderingsmanagement: Leiden van veranderingstrajecten binnen de organisatie en het tradingteam.
  • Talen: Dagelijkse communicatie verloopt vlot in het Nederlands én Engels.

De rol combineert commercieel inzicht met strategisch leiderschap en vereist zowel operationele als analytische vaardigheden binnen internationale handelsstromen.

Wij zoeken kandidaten die beschikken over een sterk ondernemend vermogen en het lef hebben om vanaf nul een tradingafdeling op te bouwen binnen een expeditiebedrijf. Ons ideale profiel is een ervaren trader, die zich thuis voelt in high volume, low cost commodities. Ervaring in sectoren zoals chemicals, granen of voeding vormt hierbij een duidelijk pluspunt.

  • Bestaand netwerk en portefeuille: U beschikt reeds over een relevant netwerk van klanten en leveranciers binnen de sector en weet deze relaties strategisch in te zetten én verder te ontwikkelen.
  • Commercieel inzicht: U bent van nature een commerciële onderhandelaar, gericht op langdurige klantrelaties en kunt snel schakelen tussen verschillende gesprekspartners.
  • Ondernemende mindset: U denkt in oplossingen en kansen, neemt graag initiatief en voelt zich thuis in een pioniersrol waar veranderingsgericht leiden centraal staat.
  • Analytisch & strategisch: U combineert marktanalyses en risicobeheer om doordachte keuzes te maken en zo het maximale uit het handelsvolume te halen.
  • Leiderschap: U beschikt over de ambitie en het talent om op middellange termijn een eigen team te bouwen en te coachen.
