Accounting Manager
Our client is a major key player in oil field services and is looking to expand its international activities in North America. We are hiring an experienced and proactive Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of our client's manufacturing unit in Houston. This position requires a strong expertise in accounting, internal controls and business integration, as well as a previous experience working with Oracle ERP systems. The role involves direct responsibility for local accounting and financial management while leveraging the support of the remote accounting team at the Dammam (Saudi Arabia) headquarters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Operations and Reporting
- Manage all aspects of local accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end closing processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Ensure financial data integrity and compliance with U.S. GAAP and other applicable standards.
- Oracle ERP Management
- Utilize Oracle ERP to manage and maintain accounting records, track financial performance, and ensure accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with the Dammam HQ team to optimize Oracle functionalities and streamline workflows.
- Internal Controls and Compliance
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Monitor compliance with tax regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
- Conduct periodic reviews and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Business Integration
- Support the integration of new business operations into the company’s accounting framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial systems, processes, and reporting standards.
- Collaboration with Remote Teams
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the Houston office and the accounting team in Dammam.
- Ensure seamless communication, efficient task delegation, and timely resolution of financial matters.
- Other Duties
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support local business decision-making.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA qualification preferred)
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment (or Oil & Gas / Energy) with a strong understanding of cost accounting
- Proficiency in Oracle ERP systems is preferred
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Arabic language would be an advantage
- The successful candidate has to be already based in the US (ideally in Houston) and possess the necessary documentation to work in the US
