Team leader accountant
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounting to lead an accounting department and ensure the integrity of our financial operations. As the Head of Accounting, you will play a critical role in overseeing all accounting activities, implementing financial controls, and providing leadership to a dedicated team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP, or other relevant frameworks).
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reconciliation and reporting.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient and compliant financial processes.
- Collaborate closely with senior management to provide financial insights that drive business decisions and long-term strategy.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations, as well as any other relevant statutory requirements.
- Manage and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors, ensuring a smooth audit process and timely resolution of issues.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and controls to support the company’s growth and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus).
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP). Fiduciary is a big +

- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience in managing audits and working with external auditors.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
