Our client is a European organization headquartered in Brussels. their mission is to streamline expense management for large multinationals and mid-sized companies, along with their employees.

They develop intelligent, straightforward, and integrated expense management solutions to enhance cost efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Job Description:

As a business Controller, you’ll partner with business units to analyze performance, control costs, and support data-driven decision-making. You will be in charge of:


Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Developing annual budgets and rolling forecasts that align with company goals, explaining any budget variances
  • Coordinating and oversee input from budget owners during forecasting and financial reviews
  • Assisting in shaping the group strategy and vision by identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions

Business Controlling

  • Thoroughly analyzing commercial deal terms, including pricing, revenue components, payment conditions, discounts, and agreements affecting sales commissions
  • Collaborating with the legal team to ensure compliance with contractual obligations related to invoicing and commissions
  • Tracking sales bookings and their effects on recurring revenue growth
  • Conducting ad-hoc analyses to inform business decisions, such as FTE reporting and associated costs
  • Supporting and representing the finance department in various projects, including those related to products and processes
  • Fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders and work to optimize processes, minimizing redundancy

Cost Controlling

  • Conducting detailed analyses of key cost drivers, financial KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Overseeing the monthly financial closing process to ensure accuracy in P&L statements and appropriate cost allocations across the Group, meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Reconciling accounts and verify cost accruals, deferrals, and expense reports from accountants, while tracking capital expenditures and other costs.
  • Assisting in internal and external audits by supplying necessary documentation and clarifications.
  • Coordinating and oversee input from budget owners during forecasting and financial reviews.
  • Assisting in shaping the group strategy and vision by identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
Profielbeschrijving

Your Profile:

  • Master Degree in economy/finance
  • You have 3 to 5 years' experience in audit, financial analysis or business controlling
  • You are a team-player and you can work autonomously
  • You are aware of details, pro-active & resilient
  • You are a problem-solver with analytical skills
  • You are fluent in English, Dutch and/or French

Accounting Manager – (FR/NL)This position is responsible for leading the Accounts Payable (AP) and GL accounting activities for a team of approximately 10 finance professionals based in Brussels. The manager will report directly to senior leadership, ensuring oversight and operational excellence in team performance.Lead and coordinate all Accounts Payable processes and support GL accounting activities as needed for seamless financial operations.Supervise and mentor a team, ensuring effective task delegation, follow-up, and continuous improvement in workflows.Serve as a key contact for escalations and complex queries, providing clear guidance and solutions to internal stakeholders and clients.Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, collaborating with the team and interfacing with leadership for alignment on business priorities.Support project management activities within the accounting function to drive improvements, implement new processes, and ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements.Budgeting, reconciliation, and asset management involvement as part of broader accounting responsibilities.Navigate bilingual (French/Dutch) communications, ensuring professional exchanges with both internal team members and external clients.
