A leading insurance company is looking for a Tax & Legal Advisor Life to join the Tax & Legal Business Life team, part of the broader Business Development Life Insurance department—responsible for the development of life insurance products.
Working independently, yet supported by a team of four experienced legal professionals, you will:
- Monitor legal developments (legislation, case law, administrative guidelines, etc.) that impact the life insurance market, particularly supplementary pension schemes for the self-employed, business owners, and employees in SMEs—covering a broad range of legal areas such as insurance law, tax law, commercial law, succession, and family law;
- Advise senior management on legal and strategic matters relevant to the company’s growth and compliance;
- Proactively propose and implement legal updates to products, procedures, and internal processes following regulatory changes;
- Provide legal and tax support to internal teams, distribution partners, and clients on concrete cases;
- Participate in multidisciplinary projects (with marketing, actuarial, IT, and training teams), offering legal expertise to shape business initiatives;
- Collaborate with other legal departments within the organization to ensure knowledge sharing and consistency;
- Oversee and coordinate legal disputes or complaints, working closely with external legal advisors.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in Law, with additional training in Tax Law;
- 3–5 years of experience in a legal role or as a lawyer;
- Experience in legal and tax aspects of life insurance is a strong asset;
- Bilingual (French/Dutch) or Dutch-speaking with a good command of French;
- Business-minded and result-oriented, with a broader view than just the legal context;
- Strong analytical skills and a proactive, organized approach to problem-solving;
- Able to defend legal opinions convincingly, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team;
